DJ D'Artagnan's Music CD to be featured at the Olympics, cover art powered by Project Dogwaffle
January 25, 2006 - Saratoga Springs, NY and San Diego, CA - DJ D'Artagnan, aka John Somnitz, today announced the release of AEON, his new music CD.
"I'm very happy to announce this new collection", said D'Artagnan. ""ĈoN is an album that has been in the making for all my adult life. The tracks on this album were written throughout my career and are really an inside look at the heart and soul of my experiences. Some say love and hate are the mother and father of all music. There is some truth in that. Those times in your life where your emotions are functioning at a fever pitch are when you are most creative. These songs are a reflection of all the times when things were at their brightest and also all the times where life was a trial. I hope my music manages to strike a chord within all of you."
* New Songs to be Featured at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.
"The Magnetic Poets is a multimedia performance group that features visuals as a natural instrument. They will be performing nightly along with guests artists in Piazza Solferino prior to the medal ceremonies (in nearby Piazza Castello) at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy.
Among other titles, The Magnetic Poets will be playing D'Artagnan's new song "Today is the First Day". The "ONE" project will turn the focus outward from the stage and from the band, and will instead provide the opportunity for world artists to express the Olympic Spirit through their musical contributions.
* DJ D'Artagnan chooses Dogwaffle artwork by Philip Staiger for new CD
"My album is a combination of my new and old songs.", added Somnitz. "I named it Aeon because it is a representation of my life's work. I had been searching for a picture that would encompass this theme for quite some time. I had found many photos and drawings that just didn't cut it. When I saw Philip's 'Cosmic Eye' I knew that it was exactly what I had been looking for. It gives me a feeling of the infinite breadth of the universe. "
